Yes, Blizzard again insert a secrete level in the Diablo's saga!
In
Diablo 3 the new secret level is "
Whimsyshire" full of unicorns!
The other funny thing is this: as you probably have seen, an in-game tips say "
There is no cow level".
How to find the secret level:
You need to find these objects:
- Black Mushroom - located in a patch of mushrooms in level 1 of the Cathedral (Act 1): this is a random and rare item, you may need to remake the level 1 of the Cathedral multiple times before finding it (be sure to exit the game and then "resume" it). The most common place is not too far from the stairs going from level 1 to the next (easy and fast to farm)
- Shinbone - found occasionally in the fireplace (walk right when you enter) of Leoric's Manor (Act 1)
- Wirt's Bell - can be purchased from a vendor in Act 2 for 100,000 gold
- Liquid Rainbow - can be found in a Mysterious Cave (random dungeon) in Dahlgur Oasis during Act 2 after you saved an NPC. This is the most difficult item to find..
Here is how to find it:
- Travel to the "Path to the Oasis" waypoint.
- Head south-east until you find a small path leading to a watery clearing.
- Look for Zaven the Alchemist, who must be saved from Deathly Haunts (He doesn't always spawn, in which case you must leave the game and "Resume Game" to remake).
- As a reward for saving Zaven, he will open the door to the Mysterious Cave.
- Look for the Mysterious Chest: This is not the Resplendent Chest found at the end of the dungeon, both may coexist. The Mysterious Chest does not always spawn just like the merchant. If you do not find the chest, you must leave the game and "Resume Game" to remake once again.
- Gibbering Gemstone - random drop from Chiltara (it's a rare spawn!!) in the Caverns of Frost (not icefall caves and beware, only one dungeon will pop) on the quest where you destroy the ballistic (Act 3)
- Plans for the Staff of Herding - random drop from Izual (Act 4): head to The Crystal Colonnade and find your way to the Gateway to the Silver Spire. Next you will enter the Silver Spire Level 1, and finally encounter Izual on The Great Span.
Then you just need to get the recipe drop, pay your blacksmith 60k gold and craft it! (Normal mode)
To enable it on higher difficulties you need to find the recepie on that
level and pay the blacksmith again (200k for nightmare, 500k for hell, 1
million for INFERNO).
Once the staff is complete take
The Old Ruins waypoint (Act I)
and head west down Old Tristram Road. Hug the south wall. There
should be a Skeletal Corpse and a "rift" in one of the crevices in the
ground. If you have the Staff, the
Ghost of the Cow King will appear with a quest above his head.
You need a new staff for each difficulty. The plans can be found by the Merchant in Bastion's Hold.
